Fiesta!

Happy Fiesta day!!

Thanks for the super cute picture of us, mom!
The fiesta set-up.  I made tons of paper flowers, had colorful tablecloths, mariachi music playing, and carnitas tacos for lunch.  It was so fun!

She KNEW it was her party. She'd be playing at the playground and then coming running down to greet the party guests as they arrived.  She'd take the gift, give it to me, then demand "juice" or "chip", and run back to play.  Whoa!

Running with Ethan
Playing with Jake

Grammy got to meet the Shook girls and she loved holding both of them!  They are pretty sweet :-)

So many friends playing at the park

Showing off her hanging skills

Checking out some toys with big Jake

Swinging with Aunt Riley

Yay!

Half of the big kids together in one shot - amazing!

Two of my favorite ladies

We have a problem.  Violet runs so much like a girl it's embarrassing.  She flaps her arms like a butterfly and flits around from thing to thing.

So cute

Time to sing happy birthday!
She blew out 2 candles all by herself

The pinata.  I cannot explain fully how I felt about this pinata.  It was an idea I found on pinterest for a pull-string pinata with tissue paper fish scales all around.  Simple.  From doing the papier mache to building the trap door to gluing on the fish scales it took about 6 hours.  I haven't cussed that much in a long time and all because of a pinata!  But once I started it...you know I'm going to finish it!

It was fun...for about 2 minutes!!!

Yay here come the fruit snacks

Sweet sweet relief...stomping the guts out of the stupid pinata.

Even the grandmas got in on the action

We had lots of presents to open after that

I held up these sandals and asked if she like them.  After a 5 second beat, she replied "Yeah" and shook her head yes. It was so cute!

Her own garden tools

She also got a big red wagon from Grandma and Papa.  She loves it!  All of the kids had fun taking turns in it.

She also loves the magnadoodle board she got from Ethan

Riley was so tired she took a nap on the deck (?)

While mom and dad went out with friends, Violet stayed home and played with her new play-doh set

I can only imagine her asking for these things: the letter A, a bowl with peas, and the number 2!
